Story

“Mi, a name I call myself…” the girls used to share songs, syllables and sunsets. Back then, summers didn’t sting. They shone like porcelain, waiting to be toted on wispy clouds.

The girls chased patterns of the day. From under bougainvillea arches and over Rangoon creepers, they ran in circles. Nearly courting secrets of the garden. By dusk, the sisters were back home. Ammi grunted at the muddy marks on the marble porch, but it was always easy to cool her down. One sniff of their redolent palms, smeared with henna leaves, and Ammi melted.

The velvet used to create this piece is made of viscose. Viscose is a biodegradable fabric made from regenerated cellulose fibre. The fabric is versatile and has a silken sheen.
